Maura Kitchens West (she/her or they/them) is a Consultant at SEEK Development with experience in the public and nonprofit sectors. At SEEK, they are a member of the Climate and Gender practices, and a regular contributor to SEEK’s Development Finance and Advocacy work. They are also a core member of the Donor Tracker team, making sure ODA data and key analyses on OECD donor countries are freely available for advocates to maximise impact.
With their work in climate and gender in international development, Maura supports clients with strategy development, organizational reviews, and analyses.
Previously, Maura worked in the nonprofit sector, conducting research, developing strategies, and fundraising. They worked at the Auerbach Global Impact Foundation, gaining experience in multistakeholder engagement strategies and communications. They have also conducted gender-focused and climate-sensitive research at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Humboldt Universität zu Berlin and led delegations to UNFCCC and UNCSW negotiations, in addition to advising CSOs on accountability practices for climate accounting.
Maura completed a joint master’s degree from Humboldt Universität zu Berlin and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Political Science. She obtained a bachelor's at UNC-Chapel Hill in Geography and Transatlantic Studies.
